Inside My World
I Love What I Do

Here I am in this photo—six years old, standing alone in a small Ukrainian village tucked among the canyons near the Podilski Tovtry National Nature Park. My parents sent me to have my picture taken—photographers were rare visitors in our area. I still remember the moment: the photographer asked me to smile, but I stubbornly replied, “The sun is shining too much.”
Ten years later, I left home to begin my own journey. I studied cartography, geodesy, and land management. I got married, became a father, got divorced, and later found a new path in software and computer engineering. At 26, I began learning English—and four years later, I moved to the Netherlands to start over from scratch.
Since then, I’ve become a data engineer, learned the Dutch language and culture, built a new life, and experienced the many sides of what life can bring. Along the way, I’ve always enjoyed exchanging experiences, being there for others, and receiving support in return. All of these chapters shaped who I am today and sparked a deep passion for solution-focused coaching—supporting others as they shape their own meaningful paths.

Over the years, I’ve been drawn to ideas that help us understand life more deeply and live it more consciously. Philosophical works like Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, The Enchiridion by Epictetus, and The Virtue of Selfishness by Ayn Rand have each shaped my perspective in their own ways.
Stoicism, in particular, offered me a calm and structured lens: focus on what you can control, accept what you cannot, and live with integrity and purpose. At the same time, I’ve found balance and depth through meditation and Eastern traditions. These practices taught me to slow down, notice my thoughts without clinging to them, and reconnect with the present moment.
Together, these influences have formed a quiet foundation in my life. They’re not rules, but living principles—ones that support inner clarity, grounded action, and thoughtful connection. In coaching, I don’t bring doctrines, but I do bring this lens of curiosity, presence, and spaciousness. My belief is that each person already carries wisdom within—and that part of growth is learning to hear it.

Psychology has always fascinated me—not just as a field of study, but as a way of understanding the human experience. I find myself especially drawn to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), a framework that explores how our thoughts, emotions, and actions are interconnected. What we think influences how we feel, and how we feel shapes how we respond to the world around us.
I’m deeply curious about the ways we make meaning, form habits, and navigate challenges. CBT gives language to many things we experience daily but don’t always pause to examine—automatic thoughts, limiting beliefs, inner narratives. It also offers practical tools for building awareness, challenging unhelpful patterns, and consciously choosing new ways forward.
Lately, I’ve also been exploring the science of neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to change itself—and how our minds are more adaptable than we often believe. It’s both humbling and empowering to know that we’re not fixed, that growth and healing are possible at any age.
My interest in emotions and behaviour isn’t just academic—it’s personal. Understanding these dynamics has helped me better understand myself, build deeper relationships, and hold space for others with more empathy and curiosity. In coaching, this insight supports the way I listen, reflect, and partner with clients as they explore their own mental and emotional landscapes.

My journey into technology started in the field—literally. As a geodesist, I worked with GPS systems to map the land, where precision and real-world impact went hand in hand. That foundation sparked a long-standing curiosity about how complex systems work, evolve, and connect.
Over time, I transitioned into software and data engineering, where I design pipelines, build architecture, and solve challenges that turn raw information into meaningful tools. I’m passionate about how systems scale—not just through code, but through thoughtful structure and long-term design.
Today, I also lead teams from a technical perspective. I mentor and coach teammates, help shape solutions, and foster environments where engineering is not only smart but human. For me, tech is more than just solving problems—it’s about thinking clearly, building with intention, and growing together.

When I’m not working or coaching, I find a lot of joy in doing things with my hands. There’s something grounding and fulfilling about shaping the physical world—bringing ideas to life through craftsmanship, care, and creativity. I fully renovated our house myself, from construction work to the smallest details. It became not just a home, but a reflection of my values: attention, patience, and intention.
I also enjoy designing and building furniture, and I’ve completely redesigned and planted our garden—transforming it into a space that grows with the seasons. Gardening is more than a hobby for me; it’s a practice in balance, resilience, and beauty. I even rent an extra plot just to go deeper into advanced gardening and experiment with new methods and crops.
Cooking and baking are another big part of my life. I love everything about it—from the precision to the improvisation. One of my proudest moments was preparing a Christmas dinner with over ten homemade dishes. For me, cooking is not only about flavors but also about creating moments of joy and togetherness.
When I slow down, I often reach for science fiction. Philip K. Dick is one of my favorite authors—his stories challenge how we see reality, identity, and the future. And when I want to clear my mind and feel the wind on my face, I ride my racing bicycle. It’s freedom, movement, and rhythm all in one.
These passions keep me connected—to myself, to others, and to a sense of play and purpose beyond work.
